Technical Assistance and Consultation
Members of the Columbus Community Services Intake and Assessment
Team will provide professional technical assistance and on-site consultation
for providers as needed. These activities are designed to assist providers
and others to effectively implement the goals and objectives of the ISP and/or
otherwise meet the needs of people being served, but are not intended to provide
direct services.
Technical assistance may be provided by telephone or other correspondence.
Consultation can be offered on-site at any appropriate location.
Requests for technical assistance and consultation may be made
by any appropriate stakeholder, including staff of Columbus Community Services,
as described below
- Formal Provider Requests. All regional providers may
make such requests, by using the on-line request form, or by printing the
request form and submitting it to the regional Columbus Community Services
office. Telephone requests are also acceptable.
- Division Regional Office Request. The Division Regional
Office may also identify needs that require technical assistance or consultation.
Requests may be made in the same manner as described above, or through regular
contact with the Columbus Community Services regional office.
- Family/Personal Request. People being served and families
will also be made aware of the availability of these services through outreach
materials and activities and through contact with the Support Coordinator.
Technical assistance and consultation needs should be discussed as a part
of developing each ISP.
- Support Coordination. In their roles of service monitor
and advocate, support coordinators will be a primary source for identification
of needs for technical assistance and consultation. As they review records,
observe the implementation of the ISP, meet with providers and regularly
communicate with people they support and their families, they may identify
instances and patterns that indicate a need for such assistance.
